Outside The Hoop

“If I stand in the center of a Hula Hoop, all the territory inside the hula hoop is my concern, my business, and within my power to change. Everything outside of it is none of my business, and out of my control.”
~Hula Hoop Larry~

Yes…same quote…different day…different application.  Yesterday we talked about minding your hoop. Today’s the other half of it.

Once you know where your hoop ends, something shifts. You start to notice things outside it — someone else’s mood, a problem that isn’t yours, chaos happening a few feet away. And here’s the part that takes practice: noticing isn’t the same as owning.

You can see it. You can even care about it. But you don’t have to fix it, manage it, or carry it. Awareness doesn’t come with an assignment attached.

Some of the calmest people you’ll ever meet aren’t the ones who don’t notice things. They’re the ones who’ve learned the difference between noticing and needing to act.
