Gratitude

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.”

Before you list what’s missing, list what’s already here.

The coffee that was hot. The sun came up. The knees that still bend. Small stuff, easy to skip past on the way to the big complaint.

Gratitude isn’t pretending everything’s fine. It’s just refusing to let the little…good stuff go unnoticed.  It is very easy to get caught up in this world where everything seems to tell us that more is better.  Maybe it’s OK to just be OK.
