Meet Mama

| “Sometimes love is not in the echo — it’s in the anchor.” ~Marcus Viveiro~ Without Mama, the raft would have sunk long ago. She didn’t make a big announcement about it. Didn’t need the credit. She just showed up — quietly, steadily — and kept the whole thing afloat when The Dude couldn’t always suit up and show up. She stocked the raft with everything it needed. Sometimes The Dude just untangles the raft and does a little maintenance, and occasionally gives a little push. That’s what a real anchor does. It doesn’t shout. It holds. She’s got her own world too — a little pink bubble she can drift into when the noise gets to be too much. When The Dude’s running mind and running mouth need a little duct tape. She floats just far enough to find her peace, and then she’s right back. Always available. Always there. That’s the thing about Mama. She sees the good in everything — even the stuff that’s hard to find good in. She’s a little crazy in the best possible way, and she’s been the quiet force behind this whole river from the beginning. The Dude doesn’t say it enough. So he’s saying it now. The Dude 🐸 Thought for the Day Who’s the anchor in your life that you haven’t thanked lately? |
