Tools That Serve You

“The key to digital minimalism isn’t to vilify technology but to develop a philosophy that helps you determine what tools serve you and what tools don’t.”
~Cal Newport~

Nobody’s saying throw the phone in the river.

Your phone’s not the enemy. It’s a tool — same as a hammer, same as a boat. The question was never “good or bad.” It’s “does this serve me right now, or am I serving it?”

Some days your phone helps you find the trailhead, call your kid, listen to the one song that fixes everything. Other days it’s just noise wearing a charging cable.

You don’t need a detox. You need a filter. Keep what serves you. Let the rest float on by.

Thought for the Day
The tool isn’t the problem. The mindlessness is.
