It’s Not About You

“Don’t take anything personally.”
~ Don Miguel Ruiz ~

This is The Second Agreement.

The short reply. The cold shoulder. The comment that landed wrong. The look someone gave you across the room. It was never about you at all.

Everyone is living inside their own world. Their moods, their fears, their bad days, their old wounds — none of it belongs to you. When someone lashes out, pulls away, or says something that stings, they’re speaking from their story. Not yours.

Taking it personally is a trap. It hands other people the keys to your peace.
